She chose to major in contemporary classical composition in her final year which helped her become a well-rounded musician and allowed her to gain a deeper understanding and love of music. She continues to expand her repertoire into an array of different genres, study music theory & piano pedagogy, and is always sourcing new resources and material for her teaching.
Teaching
Lauren started teaching piano at the age of 16 (2014), when she taught beginner piano to local kids and brought them through the elementary grades, achieving great results.
Since then, Lauren has helped students of all ages and abilities reach their musical goals with excellent results via private tuition and in some of the best music schools in Dublin.
She is just as comfortable teaching beginner lessons as she is with students at diploma level. She enjoys establishing a good teacher-student relationship and designs a lesson plan that suits each individual student’s goals, aspirations, and tastes in music, whether they are to progress through the traditional grade system or play just for fun. Lauren’s favourite thing about teaching piano is how rewarding it feels to share the gift of music with others.
Lauren enjoys establishing a rapport with her students, encouraging their ambitions and developing their abilities in a fun and focused manner. She likes to emphasise that learning to play the piano takes work but the most important thing to remember is that music should be a source of joy, wellbeing, and mindfulness.
